About authentication

A Trucheck certificate is the record of an examination, not a guarantee. This page exists so the limits of that record are always available.

What the examination is

An examination is a structured comparison of submitted photographs against the references and signals known to the Trucheck system at the time of issue. It is conducted by the Trucheck system and reflects an advisory expert opinion.

Where the system reaches an authentic verdict, a certificate is issued and made available to the owner. The certificate is then shareable through this viewer.

What the examination is not

It is not a guarantee of authenticity. It is not a warranty. It is not an appraisal of value or condition. It is not legal, customs, or insurance documentation. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any luxury house or brand.

It is bounded by the photographs that were submitted. Items that look identical in photographs can differ materially in person; conversely, an item that fails a photographic examination may still be authentic.

When to seek more

For high-value transactions, an in-person inspection by a qualified specialist is recommended in addition to the certificate. A certificate is one input into a buying decision; it should not be the only one.

If you believe a certificate is wrong

Concerns about a specific certificate can be reported to the Trucheck team through the in-app support channel of the Trucheck mobile application. Include the certificate identifier shown on the page.
